Adulting

It’s like…

Looking both ways before you cross the street and then getting hit by an airplane. The moment you think you’ve got it all under control, the toilet starts leaking, you’re in some major relationship drama, or your family needs you to drop everything to help out. You can’t catch a break.

You wonder why nobody gave you a guidebook for this. Sure, you can ask YouTube to help you fix your toilet, but you can’t Google your way out of money worries, losing a job, illness, heartbreak, crippling anxiety, or whatever emotional land mine you’re in.

Therapy can help you navigate the emotional overwhelm, and teach you practice strategies to lessen your stress, make your life run smoother, and create more satisfaction.

Your Secret Sauce

In a world where you're bombarded with messaging about who you should be, it’s challenging to figure out who you really are. You might look to your friends, coworkers, or social media for help.

But sometimes identity comparison shopping can leave you feeling bad about yourself, especially when you can’t measure up to your own expectations. It can also keep you from learning about who you really are. While you’re busy trying on other people’s identities, you’re not connecting with your “secret sauce” - your special and unique self.

In therapy, I’ll help you explore your identity and emotions, define your values, passions, and dreams, and embrace your life purpose.

You’re made of strong stuff. Let’s identify the parts of your identity that resonate most and learn to celebrate them.

Achieving Your Goals

I’ll let you in on a little secret: Achieving goals doesn’t really lead to happiness. Happiness comes when your goals really matter to you. A meaningful “why” provides motivation for reaching your goal, and you will have a better chance of success.

In therapy, we’ll make sure the end result is something that you really care about or need. We’ll also make focus on reducing the costs to you, your wellbeing, health, career, family, or happiness.

Going on a journey to achieve your goals will help you to learn, to push yourself, to test yourself, to meet new people, to find new ways of living and doing, and it will increase your confidence.

I look forward to learning about all your important life goals!

Mental Resiliency

Life is constantly throwing curveballs. On top of that, your own needs and desires are always shifting. Riding the emotional rollercoaster of these changes can have you feeling powerless or stuck.

Maybe you’re stuck in a crappy job, a soul-sucking relationship, or the nonstop chatter of your own thoughts and worries.

In therapy, you’ll learn how to leave limiting beliefs behind and find your way to a fresh perspective of what brings you joy and what you’re capable of achieving. You’ll develop your own roadmap for adapting to life-changing situations and emerge even stronger than before.

Empower yourself to discover who you are and what you desire out of life.
